Every month, Jogja English always organizes “English Performance Show” or EPS to improve our skill and our fluency in speaking English.  February is known as love month, the theme for EPS is “My Poetry My Love”. How romantic!

The EPS "My Poetry My Love" was held on February 04th, 2016, at the Ling Lung Coffee & Eatery in Caturtunggal, Yogyakarta, closed to our lovely Jogja English's office. It will be my second time for joining EPS.

One week earlier, the instructor asked us to make our own poetry which should be originally written by ourselves. We could post our poetries in Jogja English’s social media, such as twitter, facebook or instagram to win some doorprizes. I posted my own poetry, love poetry inspired by my love one.

For the group contest, we should arrange our poetries into one board and decorated as amazing as possible. We did it of course ;). Every class level has to send a representative for reading a poetry, and Dhany was chosen through voting.

The EPS show ran from 06.00 pm to 09.30 pm. It was an amazing night. We should wear pink attribute during the show and brought a bar of chocolate. There were many attractive contests and performances. Dhany, as my class representative, did her best to read the poetry as our representative. Good job Dhany!!!.

My class performed an acoustic live music, and I was the guitarist, we sang Sudah cukup from Republik. We practiced together after class to perform our best. Also, there was a word game in that show, we got some words and had to arrange into a poetry. Can’t you imagine? it is so ridiculously fun.

Anyway, there was a little award in EPS. There were some nominees, and our class became the winner for three nominees, such as:

  • The best instructor, the winner is Mr. Hasyim
  • The best poetry, winner is Mr. Ucil
  • The best board for our Poetry Board

At last but not least I got my special award, I became The member of The Month, I got some recharge gifts. Many thanks to Jogja English, I am so proud and happy to be part of you. And my dearest Team (Mr Wisnu, Taufik, Ucil, Rasmos, Ms. Desta, Dhany, Mala and Uni) thank you very much for being such a great team. Let’s keep English alive guys....
