Teletubbies dome! We call it because the shape is half round which looks like teletubbies’s homes but the difference is that the dome’s colour is white. It is located in Sumberharjo,Prambanan, DIY. We went there on Saturday, July 23 by motorcycle, but some instructors went by car (huuu). After we arrived, the committee divided us into four groups; there were FUN, JOY, CHEER, and PEACE. Each group consisted of 6 or 7 members. Then we had to make a group yell.

We went there on Saturday, July 23 by motorcycle, but some instructors went by car (huuu). After we arrived, the committee divided us into four groups; there were FUN, JOY, CHEER, and PEACE.  Each group consisted of  6 or 7 members. Then we had to make a group yell.

The first our activity was tracking to some places which had been attacked by earthquake (in 2006). We got a task to collect 50 vocabularies about everything we met during the trip. There was two guides who told about the story of the dome and the village (desa Ngelepen). Do you know why the residents were built the domes for their homes? Because in 2006, there was an earthquake which attacked Yogyakarta and this place was one of the places which got the worst impact. They got assist, 80 units of domes, from American non-governmental organization. The process to build the dome is unique because it uses a big balloon (airform). First, blow the balloon, then put cement, sand and iron on it. The dome was designed to stand from earthquake.

From 80 units of Domes, 71 units are used as homes (the diameter is 7 meter), 6 units are used for public toilets, 1 unit is for musholla (mosque), 1 unit is for hall (aula) and 1 is for polindes (public polyclinics). There’s no bathroom in the domes used as homes, just two bedroom, 1 kitchen, 1 living room, and a little space room on the second floor. The guide said that the bathrooms are outside. Every 11-12 domes have one big toilet. The toilet has eight bathrooms.

So, they have to queue first if they want to go to the toilet, hehe…

The next activity, was we had an outbound. There were four posts, each post was kept by an instructor and we had to finish all of the challenges as quickly as we can.

The first post for my team was Mr.Ahwy’s post, he asked us to make ‘like a bed’ used our hand in pairs, after that one of member in our group should lay (fall) her/himself down on the bed that we made. The second post was Mrs.Novi’s post, this was my favorite game because it is a little bit difficult, we had to across the spider-net, there’re nine holes in different wide. Poor my team was, we only got three people who could pass the spider-net.

The next was post kept by Mr. Al and Ms. Nafi, this game was about water (hahaha…).

They had 3 buckets; 1 was small and the two others were bigger. The small one was full of holes. It’s called leaky bucket. The big one (this was the biggest) was filled water and the other (rather big) bucket was empty.  We should move the water from biggest bucket to empty bucket by small bucket one, the leaky bucket.

The last post was Mr. Prio’s post, there were six squares made from cardboard, then six people from the group had to march and tramp on it as close as possible, one of squares which was not tramped should be moved  and it would be used to the next step so that we could move until the finish spot.

The best part in our outing class is we could talk with foreigner from Belgium. Her name is Allexa. She is very kind, beautiful and expressive. She told us about her country and her trip in Indonesia. She said that the Belgium has three languages because the country is bordered to three other countries; Germany, the Netherlands, and France. When one of member asked her opinion about Indonesia, she said Indonesia had a lot of cultures, beautiful scenery, but the most of the places in Indonesia were dirty (hikzz >.<)

Finally, Mr.Prio announced the best team and the most active member in this outing class. The best team was CHEER (yeayy!!) and the most active member was me myself. From this experience, I and my friends got a lot of knowledge, team work, new friends, and also we could take a lot of pictures there, haha.. ^^
