upon a time, members and officers of Jogja English visited and played together at Ratu Boko Palace. It was on Saturday, October 30, 2010. The situation was very fun and wonderful at the time. Sun shined well and the weather was very nice. Ratu Boko Palace is one of the fascinating ancient heritages in Yogyakarta. It showcases the rich cultural and architectural traditions of Indonesia. It also displays a blend of Hindu and Buddhist architectural elements indicating the extensive spread of both religions in Indonesia.

Once upon a time, members and officers of Jogja English visited and played together at Ratu Boko Palace.

This Palace is located at 3km south from Prambanan Temple. It’s located on the top of hill. Visitors can gaze a beautiful of panorama Jogja from that place even though they have not entered the Palace area. Moreover, they are allowed to take picture there. The wonderful scenery can be seen easily. Also, the place is clean enough.

Actually, that was my first time to visit Ratu Boko Palace. Ehm… It’s so embarrassing because at the time I was a Yogyakartans having not ever gone there. It became one of my interesting experiences. Visiting this place, we could learn our own cultures made by our ancestors. In addition, we could improve our English together.

I was happy and excited because Jogja English held EPS there. Ms. Setya, an instructor of Jogja English, divided us into five groups for playing outbound. She asked that each group make their own yell. She said that Jogja English would give prize for group having the best yell. Because of the prize promised, each of group tried to make a good yell. Finally, the group winning the best yell was “Too Much” team.

There were many games held by officers for us. We got many experiences to study English. The more active you are, the more easily you understand English. We had to practice using English as long as we played there. The most important was that we could get togetherness from this event because not only the members but also the officers had to cooperate well.

The end of our adventure, officers gave announcement. There were several winners announced such as the best slogan, the best group, and the most active member. I was very surprised when I got one of the prizes distributed. I was the most active member conversing in English at the time. Congratulation for us!

This experience will not be forgotten by us. We hope Jogja English will plan to make other events which are more interesting, useful and exciting for members.  See you on the next EPS. English is just like an orange; keep it fresh!
